Environmentalism (United states and Canada)

It can be described as a social movement or as an ideology focused on the welfare of the environment. Environmentalism seeks to protect and conserve the elements of earth's ecosystem, including water, air, land, animals, and plants, along with entire habitats such as rainforests, deserts and oceans.  The effects of human development ad activity have harmed and altered the earth's natural state. Environmentalism works to correct the damage as well as prevent future destruction.
Environmentalists are trying to reduce aspects of our lifestyle that are destroying the planet and that, of course, is a good thing. However, modern society is built upon layers of environmentally destructive materials: plastic, fossil fuels, red meat. How are we supposed to reduce our use of these integral parts of our daily life?
Not everybody can completely change their lifestyle, even if they do care for the environment. What tends to happen though is that anyone who takes baby steps and calls themselves an environmentalist is labelled as a hypocrite if they don’t go all-in and flip their lives upside down for the environmental movement

Being an environmentalist really means thinking of innovative ideas to solve multidimensional problems. Cooperation between engineers, representatives, business managers, scientists and community members facilitate thinking outside the traditional model.
